Hong Kong's Luen Shuen Wan Tin Hau Festival & Goddess Procession Luen Shuen Wan Tin Hau Festival: Three Must-See Highlights *Sea Procession (Goddess Procession):* This is the heart of the celebration. The Tin Hau Goddess's palanquin is carried on a magnificently decorated boat, part of a fleet of dozens of fishing boats adorned with colorful flags and accompanied by drums and gongs, which then cruise the waters around Luen Shuen Wan. Fishermen believe this will ensure safe navigation and a bountiful catch. *Seaside Opera Stage and Divine Kung Fu Performance:* Due to Luen Shuen Wan's unique location, villagers construct a massive traditional bamboo stage by the sea to stage four days and five nights of Cantonese opera, "Divine Kung Fu Performance." The stage and the giant floral display behind it present distinctly different traditional aesthetics day and night. *A Biennial Event:* The Luen Shuen Wan Tin Hau Festival (the grand festival) is held every even-numbered year. Due to the area's generally inconvenient transportation, more frequent extra ferries to and from Sai Kung town center only occur during the festival period. 2026 Participation Tips Dates: May 6th to May 10th, 2026 (during the festival).
