A video that a Russian driver filmed while driving towards occupied Crimea has been posted online . The footage shows a record-breaking traffic jam of cars lined up to leave the peninsula. Due to the lack of electricity in occupied Yalta, trolleybuses have stopped and ATMs are not working. It is also noted that a queue about 15 kilometers long formed at the exit from Crimea. According to data published in open sources, there were about 2,800 cars in the traffic jam. “Brothers, it seems to me that this is an absolute record. There has never been such a queue in front of the bridge,” the Russian emotionally adds in the footage. Ukraine is steadily dismantling Russian military infrastructure in occupied Crimea. Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russian forces lack the capability to establish an alternative naval base in the Black Sea, adding that the port of Novorossiysk—the largest port in the Russian Federation—cannot serve as an adequate replacement. This assessment underscores the strategic vulnerability Moscow faces as Ukraine intensifies its campaign to degrade Russian military capabilities in the region. Pletenchuk emphasized Crimea's critical role in Russia's military strategy. “Crimea is a strategically vital element that allows them, as they believe, to project power far beyond the borders of their empire,” Dmytro Pletenchuk said. He further noted that no other naval base in the Black Sea can substitute for Crimea, and that 'the Russians cannot organize another such base in the Black Sea.' The port of Novorossiysk, with its 8 kilometers of berths, cannot meet the Russian fleet's needs the way Crimea does. Pletenchuk highlighted that “A fleet is not just ships, it’s not just piers,” he added. stressing that effective naval operations demand not only infrastructure but also strategic positioning. Without Crimea, Russia’s ability to project force across the Black Sea and beyond would be severely compromised. As a result, Ukraine will continue prioritizing the destruction of Russian military infrastructure in Crimea, given the peninsula's central role in Moscow's regional war plans. The ongoing operations aim to cripple Russia's military foothold and limit its capacity to sustain operations in southern Ukraine and the broader Black Sea area. The situation in the Black Sea and around Crimea remains volatile, as control over this strategic region carries immense weight for both sides of the conflict. Ukrainian forces persist in launching operations to erode Russia's military strength, which could reshape the trajectory of the war. Meanwhile, Moscow is likely to seek ways to reinforce its military presence along the Black Sea coast, further complicating the security landscape in this part of Europe. It is worth noting that on the night of 20–21 July, Ukraine carried out simultaneous attacks on two key oil facilities on either side of the Kerch Strait, which separates Crimea from Russia – the oil terminal in Kerch in Crimea and the port of Kavkaz in Russia. According to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia has relocated air defence systems from other regions to Moscow and the Kerch Bridge, which connects Crimea to the Russian mainland. This includes hundreds of S-400, S-500, and Pantsir air defence system launchers deployed in the Moscow region alone. All these strikes against power plants, oil refineries, bridges and crossings are aimed at worsening the daily life of Crimea’s people – to make it almost uninhabitable and completely unsuitable for tourism. As a result, the situation for the peninsula’s residents has deteriorated significantly. Their daily lives are now filled with waiting in line at gas stations, which have severely limited sales or even stopped them altogether.
