Car Talk #1812: The Truth Detector

This week on The Best of Car Talk, Judith figures two mechanics would be the perfect test subjects for her voice-biometrics lie detector. But her choice of Tom and Ray might cause the machine to just give up. Elsewhere, Outdoor Studies major Ted is about to graduate and plans to drive his vintage Dodge van from upstate New York to Alaska. Ted might be studying a lot of the outdoors—waiting for tow trucks. Also, Cindy's car got really loud after she replaced the exhaust system; Justin's Civic has water pouring in through the speakers when it rains; and Christine's key is stuck in her ignition which has less urgency now that the car won't start.
