L Ramaswamy- Ignorance of one’s real nature manifests as desire. Once desire is fulfilled, it further transforms into fear, the fear of losing the object of desire. Ignorance also gives rise to selfishness, a sense of otherness, a destructive nature, etc., all of which directly result in fear. Since fear is a deeply intense emotion, you end up attracting the very same objects and beings that you are afraid of. A Sattvic intellect alone can clearly distinguish between what ought to be feared and what ought not to be feared in life.
