The trail starts at the bus terminal at the beach in Bel Ombre and we set off on an unforgettable hike. The Anse Major Trail takes us through lush greenery up into the hills where nature reveals its true beauty. Keep your eyes peeled for some incredible wildlife – we encountered a giant bat – it was a fruit bat. We also encountered some large palm spiders, which are fortunately harmless to humans! The highlight of our hike is the stunning view of the Indian Ocean and the beach, which is framed by photogenic rocks. These places are a joy to explore as they make for perfect photo opportunities. The Anse Major Trail is a great place to relax, where you will also occasionally meet cheerful and friendly hikers who enhance this incredible experience.
