Ford Mustang GT: Too Cool for You

This GT has a 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated Coyote V8 engine (no supercharger! no turbocharger!) with 486 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. Regular Mustang GTs have 480 horsepower, but this one bumps to 486 with Ford's active-valve exhaust option. That power goes through a 10-speed automatic transmission to the rear wheels (I wish it was the six-speed manual). The acceleration, sound, suspension, driving feel, and everything about this car is top-tier. Every time I drive one, I remember why I should just get a Mustang myself. We've driven a few Mustangs on this channel, including the manual Dark Horse and a manual GT. So I want to use this video to talk about the Mustang as a car and the culture around it. The Mustang is cool to “normal” people and for many years, I think that’s led people who like cars to discount it. When a Mustang wrecks at Cars & Coffee, we race to make fun of it. But the Mustang is worthy of our praise. Not only does it have a huge lineup to choose from — EcoBoost to GTD, fastback to convertible — but it also has a deep history and incredible performance. We’ll talk about all of that today. Each time I get a Mustang to review, I remember why I’m a Mustang person.
