"FUERON MÁS DE 10.000 FALSOS POSITIVOS": Coronel de la Policía

Exclusive interview with Omar Eduardo Rojas Bolaños, former Colombian police colonel, who, due to his denunciations, had to go into exile due to threats against his life. Rojas Bolaños is also a sociologist and the author of two of the most important books ever written on false positives. He claims to have killed more than 10,000 people. Someone's comment: "I don't believe this colonel; I see him wavering a lot." Our Response: It's true. He should take classes with some genocidal maniac on how to speak confidently. We're full of eloquent sons of bitches who can give speeches full of lies on television or order the murder of poor children without batting an eye, to show results in their war-business. This former colonel's problem is speaking from the heart, without a script, indignant, threatened, far from his homeland and his family for the sin of trying to denounce atrocious crimes. A troubling comment, but I greatly appreciate it because it explains the missing part of the interview: thoughtlessness, ignorance, impulsiveness, lack of analytical skills, comfortable skepticism, and insensitivity. Much of Colombia is like this; it's part of the culture. It's the very reason not only why 10,000 murders happened, but also why those who committed them continue to govern.
