My diary, September 21st and 22nd, 2025, by Heider Menezes. In this video, I showed what it was like to present, in person, the first documents for the application for Spanish citizenship through the Ley de Memoria Democrática (LMD). In this case, the applicants were my father and my paternal grandmother. In April 2025, my maternal grandmother also submitted her application. It will probably be my mother and I's turn to travel to São Paulo, the capital, in November, to finalize our applications as well. In total, there are five family members with the right and interest in Spanish citizenship: my maternal grandmother, my paternal grandmother, my father, my mother, and myself.
