Along the way, he met an aging Orc seeking a good death and battled numerous dangers, including sabrecats, welwa, goblins, and wolves. In Rorikstead, Ragnar brawled Mralki in the Frostfruit Inn and purchased Hilda the Goat from Halvar to serve as his pack mule. Continuing east, he defeated centaurs, a Zhuchengtyrannus, and the warrior Eydvina Shield-Hearth, claiming Hendraheim as his new home. Near Sleeping Tree Camp, he brought down two mammoths and a Cave Giant. At last, Ragnar arrived at the Western Watchtower to face the dragon Mirmulnir. With the help of the Whiterun guards, he slew the beast and absorbed its soul, revealing himself to be Dragonborn. Returning to Whiterun, Ragnar informed Jarl Balgruuf of the victory. In recognition of his deeds, he was named Thane of Whiterun and received Lydia as his personal housecarl. The two spent the night in Jorrvaskr.
