Exploring Sinharaja

This is the story of the last remaining primary, tropical rainforest in Sri Lanka—a patch of forest that is home to most of our endemic species and is at the heart of the many ecosystems that nourish our nation. But even havens like Sinharaja, have not been spared the effects of human impact, climate change, or natural disasters. As an organization with its roots in this little island, this story is personal to us at MAS. That’s why we are working with colleagues across MAS and likeminded partners to conserve over 100 acres of land in Sinharaja. Whether it be through reforestation, invasive species removal, conservation or research, our teams are working hard to find the best ways to help keep this rainforest thriving for generations to come. Through the MAS Plan for Change, we are committed to restoring biodiversity in 25,000 acres of land across geographies MAS operates in. Our work in Sinharaja is a small step, but an important one, in finding the right kind of models and partners who can help us change our planet for good. #IntlForestDay #MASPlanForChange #OurPlanetChangedForGood #ChampionBiodiversity #Sinharaja
