How do people really look at commercial EV adoption in real life? There are always doubts, where will the EV vehicle charge, what real-world range will it deliver, how practical is EV driving for daily commercial operations, and most importantly, can an EV be trusted on long routes without any backup? To answer all these questions at once, we embarked on something far bigger than a regular road trip. This is not just another journey and definitely not a showcase drive. This is a First ever EPIC Kashmir to Kanyakumari journey in an Electric Commercial Vehicle, undertaken with the Eicher Pro X EV Pickup, traveling non-stop from Lal Chowk, Srinagar to Kanyakumari, stopping only for charging. There was no ICE backup, no support vehicle, and no safety net involved. What you see is exactly how a loaded commercial EV Pickup performs in real Indian conditions. Eicher (VECV), in collaboration with Behind The Wheels, flagged off this historic journey on 20th January 2026 at 8:00 AM from Lal Chowk, Srinagar. Bhagwan Bindiganavile, Executive Vice President - Strategic Planning, Brand and Communication, joined us along with the Kashmir Motors, A VECV dealership principal in Srinagar, and an Indian Book of Records adjudicator Mr Sanjay Bhola, who accompanied us throughout the journey (till Kanyakumari). Finally… the journey we dreamt of, planned for months, and spoke about countless times has begun. This is DAY 1 of the K2K journey, covering the first 24 hours on the road, including real charging breaks, on-ground decision-making, the demanding Srinagar to Jammu hilly stretch, long driving hours, and finally the entry into Punjab, marking the transition from mountains to plains. This is not a controlled test or a lab experiment. This is real EV driving, real EV infrastructure, and real EV learning, exactly the way a commercial EV Pickup vehicle is used every day. This journey is not about breaking one record. It is about creating many firsts in the Indian commercial vehicle space and building real confidence around EV adoption for fleet owners, operators, and drivers.
