Here's the Part II of our Taiwan Travel and we visited the famous tourist attractions in Nantou County. 1. The Old England. -The "Old England" in Taiwan refers to a charming, British-style building and boutique hotel located in the Beitou District of Taipei. Known for its colonial-era architecture and elegant design, the establishment evokes the atmosphere of an English countryside mansion, with a focus on historical and cultural aesthetics. The building was originally constructed in the early 20th century during the Japanese colonial period, which is reflected in its architectural style, blending both Western and Japanese influences. Today, it is a popular spot for both tourists and locals, offering a mix of vintage charm and modern hospitality. The area surrounding Old England is also famous for its hot springs, which add to the unique experience of visiting. In essence, it's a beautiful fusion of Taiwan’s history, British-style heritage, and natural beauty, providing a picturesque escape from the bustling city life of Taipei. 2. Hehuanshan Snow Mountain. Hehuanshan (Hehuan Mountain), often referred to as Hehuanshan Snow Mountain, is a stunning mountain range located in central Taiwan, within the Taroko National Park. It is especially famous for its breathtaking alpine scenery and for being one of the few places in Taiwan where snowfall occurs regularly during winter, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists looking to experience snow. Key Details: • Elevation: The main peak reaches around 3,416 meters (11,207 ft). • Location: Straddles Nantou and Hualien counties, with access from the scenic Central Cross-Island Highway. • Climate: Cold and temperate, with snow in winter (typically between December and February). • Scenic Spots: Notable peaks include Main Peak, East Peak, and North Peak. Wuling, the highest accessible road pass in Taiwan at 3,275 meters, is also nearby. • Activities: Ideal for hiking, photography, stargazing, and enjoying seasonal flowers like cherry blossoms and alpine wildflowers. • Accessibility: While remote, it’s reachable by car or bus from areas like Taichung, and no mountaineering permit is needed for the main trails 3. Qingjing Farm Qingjing Farm is a popular tourist destination located in the Ren’ai Township of Nantou County, Taiwan. Nestled at an altitude of around 1,750 meters, it’s often called the “Switzerland of Taiwan” due to its cool climate, lush green hills, and scenic mountain views. 4. The Swiss Garden in Taiwan is a serene and picturesque park located in the Taichung area, known for its beautiful blend of natural landscapes and Swiss-inspired design. The garden is designed to resemble the Swiss countryside, featuring lush greenery, European-style cottages, flower beds, and meandering pathways that evoke a tranquil, almost fairytale-like atmosphere. It’s a popular spot for visitors seeking relaxation or a peaceful escape. The garden's design integrates elements of Swiss culture, with a focus on outdoor beauty and harmony with nature. In addition to the lovely gardens, there are also small ponds, bridges, and charming structures that enhance the experience. Swiss Garden is not only an attraction for its aesthetic value but also offers a sense of tranquility, making it a perfect place for a leisurely walk, a family outing, or simply to unwind and enjoy nature in a beautiful setting.
