123. In Awe of Adam Keeling, Throwing Big, Tour Whichford Pottery, Pot Collection & Potter Meet-Up!

Come with me as I head back to Whichford Pottery to collect the pots I threw during my recent course — but this trip turned out to be so much more than that! After a 1.5 hour drive, I met up with fellow potter Lois Hook for a proper pottery-filled catch-up, and what came next was beyond anything I expected... We were invited behind the scenes to watch the incredible Jim Keeling and his daughter load their enormous 6-metre long, hand-built woodfired kiln — complete with 11 stoke holes and twin chimneys. The craftsmanship, care and tradition that goes into each firing was an absolute honour to witness. Next, we had the pleasure of watching the fabulous decorating team — Babs, Sue, Emma, and Caroline — in action, followed by a visit with our brilliant tutor Simon Garne, Master Thrower, who shared even more throwing wisdom and was working on some impressive large pots. But the showstopper? Watching Adam Keeling throw the largest pot I’ve ever seen in person! His mastery, calm energy, and sheer skill left us both speechless. We finally collected my finished pots (which I’m thrilled with!) and headed for lunch feeling deeply inspired. This day will stay with me forever. 🔗 Check out Adam Keeling and the team’s amazing work on their channel: ‪@WhichfordPottery‬ 👉    / @whichfordpottery   If you don't already follow Lois, head over to her channel for the best inspiration ever! @LoisHook 💡 Don’t forget to like and subscribe if you love clay, colour, and creative chaos!, and don't miss a new video - its free!
