My Blistering Mind - Hats Off Gentlemen It's Adequate

WARNING - this video includes rapid changes in brightness, which may affect people with photosensitive epilepsy and/or migraine. Video by Malcolm Galloway, incorporating footage by Malcolm Galloway, Kathryn Thomas, Mark Gatland. My Blistering Mind is the opening track of our (at time of writing) forthcoming album 'Parallel Lives' (due to be released September 2026). Written and performed by Malcolm Galloway (vocals/guitar/synths/programming/producer/mixing/mastering) and Mark Gatland (bass/synths/keyboards/co-producer/mixing) Lyrics by Malcolm Galloway https://hatsoffgentlemen.bandcamp.com... This song deals with themes relating to mental illness/neurodiversity. I wrote the song at a time when I was not feeling in a very comfortable mental state, and wanted to try to turn that feeling into something positive. When I use the word 'splintering', I'm intending to refer to the idea of a mental state that has jagged edges that stick under the metaphorical skin (rather than splintering in a multiple personality type way), and also to the sense of having multiple masks that are needed for different contexts. I was fairly recently diagnosed with ADHD, which I think in retrospect makes sense of the lyric - 'jitter, jitter, can't sit still, can't hold one thought at a time...'. If you are struggling, you are not alone. In a crisis, consider contacting the Samaritans https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can... or other support services.
