Yamunotri Mandir Jo Har Saal Marta Hai Aur Phir Je Uthta Hai | यमुनोत्री
Yamunotri. The first, the most difficult, and the loneliest of the Char Dhams. At an altitude of 3291 meters, there is a pond where the water boils at 89°C. Rice is cooked. Potatoes are boiled. And for thousands of years, people have applied that boiling water to their foreheads. The Mahabharata's Vana Parva states, "Bathing at the source of the Yamuna is equivalent to performing the Ashwamedha Yagna." Yet this very temple has been crushed by snow, destroyed by rocks, and rebuilt again and again. Yamunotri isn't even listed on the Archaeological Survey of India's list. No government document protects this temple. Yet it stands—thanks to the devotion of three queens: Baijabai Shinde from Gwalior. Pratap Shah from Tehri. Gularia from Jaipur. Every winter, this temple remains closed for six months. The idol is taken to Kharsali village. And every Baisakh—Akshaya Tritiya—it returns. Every year it dies. Every year it comes back to life. This temple is not made of stones. This is of that devotion which breaks in every winter and stands again in every Baisakh. #Yamunotri #Yamunotri #YamunotriDham #SuryaKund #CharDham #YamunotriTemple #YamunotriMandir #CharDham #Uttarakhand #Yamuna #SuryaKund #YamunotriYatra #DevaKatha ______________________ Yamunotri — the first and loneliest of the Char Dham. At 3,291 meters, a sacred kund boils at 89°C. Rice cooks. Potatoes boil. And for thousands of years, pilgrims have applied that scalding water to their foreheads as prasad. The Mahabharata's Vana Parva declares: bathing at Yamuna's source equals the merit of an Ashwamedha Yajna. Yet this same temple has been crushed by snow, shattered by rockfall, and rebuilt — over and over. The Archaeological Survey of India doesn't even list Yamunotri. No government document protects it. Still it stands — built by three queens from three kingdoms: Bajabai Shinde from Gwalior, Pratap Shah from Tehri, and Gularia from Jaipur. Every winter, the temple closes for six months. The deity is carried to Kharsali village. And every Baisakh — on Akshaya Tritiya — she returns. It dies every year. And rises every year. This is not a temple of stone. It is a temple of devotion that shatters every winter and stands again every spring. #Yamunotri #YamunotriDham #SuryaKund #CharDham #Uttarakhand #YamunotriTemple #Yamuna #DevKatha #YamunotriYatra #Himalayas
