Historisch trammetje als verjaardagscadeau voor 700 jaar Enschede: komt ‘ie op tijd?

A unique specimen, that's what it is. The TET1 was the first tram to drive around in Enschede. Until 1933. A career followed as a little house in a garden in Overdinkel, until an enthusiast saved the carriage and started a thorough restoration. It is now at the Museum Buurtspoorweg in Haaksbergen to complete that job. Final destination is Enschede, in new condition. Initiator Jan Astrego: "There were two starting points. The plan was initially to let it end up as a display model, so that it would not drive. But the gentlemen who are now working on it are so fanatical that they also want to make it roadworthy again. It is still exciting whether that will succeed."
