Houston Municipal Song and Will You Come to the Bower
The Houston, Texas ensemble "Old Spanish Trail" presents "The Houston Municipal Song" words (1915) by Oliver Allstorm (1878 -1963) and "Will You Come to the Bower" the tune played at the Battle of San Jacinto, traditional Irish tune; lyrics by Thomas Moore (1779 -1852) Julia Fox, soprano; Keith Weber, piano; Laura Cividino, violin; Elisabeth Ellison, double bass/arranger. This concert of Houston's pre-1900 musical history was presented Sept. 28, 2025 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Houston Texas, and funded by the Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs.
