The entire city is going wild with a massive art exhibition :) Set to captivate this summer, the special exhibition 'Futures of Images – Narrating Memories, Beyond Color Painting' features a rich display of diverse artistic worlds by a total of 35 contemporary Korean artists across three key art museums and museums imbued with the region's history and spirit. In the first space, the 'Inner Landscape' exhibition at the Jinju City Lee Sung-ja Art Museum explores abstraction in Korean contemporary art and the spirituality flowing beneath it, alongside 10 contemporary artists. In the second space, the Vehicle Maintenance Depot (National Registered Modern Cultural Heritage) within the Railway Culture Park, which preserves the history of the old Jinju Station, is filled with works by 18 contemporary artists, serving as a venue for a still-valid zeitgeist where Korean modern and contemporary history intersects with personal experiences. In the third space, the exhibition "Overlap of Time," held in the Special Exhibition Hall of the National Jinju Museum within Jinjuseong Fortress, 13 artists illuminate the process by which traditional techniques and materials are deconstructed and reconstructed in a modern manner, transforming into postmodern visual narratives. Jinju, a cultural city home to masters of Korean Chaesaekhwa such as Park Saeng-gwang and Lee Seong-ja, has interpreted the "flow of Korean Chaesaekhwa" from various angles through a total of three special exhibitions. This year's special exhibition, "Futures of Images," expands the meaning of traditional Chaesaekhwa in a contemporary and experimental manner. And here is a bonus video! Artist Geum Ki-sook's fashion art exhibition, a sensation that attracted a whopping 1.13 million visitors at the Seoul Museum of Crafts, continues at the Jinju Silk Museum.
