After a long and dangerous journey, Sonic and Knuckles have finally reached the shrine of the Master Emerald. Before they can reach the alter, Gemerl arrives for one last battle but despite all his upgrades he is no match for the heroes. With Gemerl defeated, Sonic races to the Master Emerald knowing only it's power can restore the world, but Eggman is waiting in his greatest battle mech created to date. Though the evil scientist thinks he has the upper hand, Sonic has been saving a very special weapon of his own to combat this mechanical monstrosity...
