Wood Cut Handprint Art

This project is an art piece for a fundraising auction for my child’s school. As artists in the classroom we were supposed to have the kids participate in some way to do the art piece for the auction. What I thought of was to have the kids make prints of their hands and then cut the prints out on the CNC and make something similar to wooden marquetry. For an overall design I use the handprints as flowers growing in front of a fence. The fence would be the background that the flowers would be cut into. The fence is Khaya wood and walnut for the space between the pickets. I then use a wide variety of different colored oods for the hand prints to make the flowers. I hope it does well at the auction.
