Volunteer rescuers used a heavy-lift drone to evacuate a stranded resident in flood-hit Guangxi, after Typhoon Maysak left 15,000 people stranded in Yunbiao town alone and overwhelmed conventional rescue efforts. Footage released on Tuesday shows a rescue team member in the Hengzhou area being carried by a drone from a rubber dingy to a rooftop to carry evacuees to safety. Later, drones can also be seen dropping supplies on other buildings. The exact location of the footage cannot be independently verified. Rescuers said they received an urgent call for a resident who needed hospital treatment. With the surrounding area submerged, the team sent in the drone to carry the person across the floodwater to safety.
