Savage Bear Hunter 300 WSM

Can the Savage Bear Hunter, with a short 23" barrel, be a good choice for a long range hunting gun. Most shooters would say no, but I wanted to challenge that traditional view so I test the compact Savage Bear Hunter to see if it would shoot a 1 MOA 5 shot group at 1000 yards. I used Hodgdon H-1000 power and Hornady 208 gr Amax bullets to work up my loads.
