The Sanitation Department of the Municipality of Ciudad Juárez, headed by Director Gibrán Solís, has intensified preventive maintenance efforts on the city's stormwater infrastructure, removing approximately 1,200 tons of trash, debris, and weeds from various dikes and streams. These operations aim to clear natural and artificial waterways to ensure proper water flow, preventing blockages and severe flooding that could endanger the safety and property of Juárez families during the rainy season. The state official made a strong appeal for civic responsibility, urging residents to refrain from dumping household waste, tires, and construction materials in these areas, which are often used illegally as clandestine dumps, hindering the effectiveness of public service operations.
