I love to share with you in my Village Sweets section some borrachas cakes from my hometown, Extremadura. Delicious with so few ingredients: For the dipping: 125 milliliters of white wine. 125 milliliters of light olive oil. 4 bay leaves. 4 cloves. 1 orange peel. 1 heaped tablespoon of anise seeds (mataleuva) 5 drops of wine vinegar. Dough: 4 heaped tablespoons of sugar (70 grams) 425 grams of wheat flour. (Depending on the flour, you may need more; fry a test cake.) 1 teaspoon of baking soda For frying: Sunflower oil. To batter them: 3 parts sugar 1 part wheat flour
