10 Years of BILSTER BERG | My Tribute to Europe's Most Beautiful Test and Presentation (Race) Track Europe's most beautiful permanent test and presentation track. 4.2 kilometers long, located in the heart of the Teutoburg Forest, partly with a view of the Hermann Monument, the landmark of the region – the land of Hermann. The Teutoburg Forest is considered the longest ridge in Germany. It stretches from the Tecklenburg region past Osnabrück and through Bielefeld to Horn-Bad Meinberg in the southeast. The landscape is perfect for expansive views, vistas… and visions. On June 10, 2023, BILSTER BERG celebrated its tenth anniversary – which is hard to believe given the excellent overall condition of the entire facility. It all started with an idea. The track was designed by Aachen architect Hermann Tilke, who also designed seven current Formula 1 racetracks. He was actively supported in this endeavor by two-time World Rally Champion Walter Röhrl. The concept: a driving resort on the abandoned grounds of a former British Armed Forces munitions depot in Germany, located in the eastern foothills of the Egge Mountains. The area is situated in the eastern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the Höxter district of East Westphalia-Lippe. Preparatory work began in February 2011, primarily clearing the future track layout. The official groundbreaking ceremony took place on September 27, 2011, and the grand opening was held on June 1, 2013. The result continues to fascinate: 19 challenging curves. Braking points that demand courage and skill. Breathtaking views. Infrastructure that leaves nothing to be desired. The total elevation change over the entire length is 72 meters, the steepest gradient is 26 percent, and the steepest incline is 21 percent. The elevation change for every kilometer on the BILSTER BERG track is a remarkable 17 meters. But perhaps the most special feature is the people you'll love meeting there, and the people you'll love seeing again, for example, in the BILSTER BERG Owners Club (BBOC).
