Ginseng Ficus Bonsai - With Deadwood Feature
This was an eventful video. This weird black fungus appeared on my ginseng ficus bonsai a week or two after putting it in the grow tent for the winter. I cleaned and scraped it all off, which coincidentally ended up showing off some hardwood. I have never seen a ficus bonsai with hardwood before! I've seen it on junipers and pines, but never on a ficus. I believe it is referred to as "shari". I ended up cutting off the dieback on top and repotting the tree into new soil. Enjoy the blooper along the way.
