In this video, I want to show you a unique way to cast on stitches! BUT! This cast-on method leaves the edge less elastic. This method is great for starting a project from the bottom, knitting a scarf, knitting a project from the top, or knitting a raglan. It's also great for knitting a neckline. Row 1: Cast on stitches using the classic method. Cast on half the required number of stitches. If knitting in the round, add 1 stitch to join the knitting in the round. Row 2: Slip the edge stitch, pick up 1 stitch from under the cast-on row, and knit the next stitch. (If knitting in the round, purl the second stitch.) Purl the last edge stitch. Row 3: Slip the edge stitch without knitting it, purl the stitch knitted from under the cast-on edge, and knit the next stitch (in the round, knit it as well). Starting from Row 4 onward, knit with a 1x1 rib pattern.
