#BrazilianArmy #StrongArm #FriendlyHand The Real Forte Príncipe da Beira, located on the banks of the Guaporé River in Rondônia, on the border with Bolivia, is celebrating 250 years of history. Built by the Portuguese in the 18th century to contain the Spanish advance and consolidate the borders of colonial Brazil based on the principle of uti possidetis, the monument is considered the largest Portuguese colonial military building outside of Europe. The video highlights the strategic importance of the fortification for the integration and defense of the national territory, in addition to addressing the periods of abandonment and the subsequent revitalization led by Marshal Rondon from 1930 onwards, when the Brazilian Army definitively took control of the structure. Listed as a national historical heritage site and recognized with protected status by UNESCO, the fort remains active and guarded by a Special Border Platoon. The soldiers of the unit work daily to preserve this historical monument, guarantee sovereignty, and combat cross-border and environmental crimes in the Amazon. Share the link to our videos.
