#yacht #purchase #inspection A few weeks ago, I bought this beautiful steel motor yacht in Belgium. It is going to become my home, because I have sold the house where I am currently living for a few more weeks. It seemed incredibly cool to me to live on a boat, and that is exactly what I am going to do now! In this vlog, you can see that my boat is undergoing a critical pre-purchase inspection by Johan Wijermans of Boot-Check; he is a very experienced pleasure yacht expert. He turns the entire ship inside out to determine its condition. It is quite exciting, I can tell you, because things might come to light that I might not have been able to see during the viewing. The ship is currently located in Tholen, because it can be taken out of the water there so that the underwater hull can be thoroughly inspected by Johan. Among other things, the steel thickness of the hull is checked. We are also going to take a test run to really put the engine through its paces. Broker Jochem is also present at the inspection, and the previous owner is on board as well to provide explanations. Together with Jochem, we're also taking a quick look around the harbor where there are some nice ships that we'll check out while we wait. On Saturday, January 2nd, I'm sailing the ship to our home port in Dordrecht together with two friends, but we'll make a stop in Willemstad to spend the night there.
