WBMX "Ain't No Jive Dance Party" DJ JES ONE 2015 HOT MIX RE WORK GROOVE SHOP NORTH

DJ JES ONE  My style of mixing was heavily influenced by Chicago's legendary Hot Mix 5 as heard on WBMX ... "Ain't No Jive Dance Party"  In 1985, I would take a boombox that you could record through a pinhole mic on the radio, so I put the boombox in front of the TV at midnight to record my 1st mixes, and that's how I learned about house music - WBMX/WGCI late night on cable TV after midnight ...then I saw the Asians at Symbols clothing store and asked how they get WBMX/WGCI all the time downtown Rockford, then they schooled me :) went home, hooked the cable up to an antenna straight to momma's stereo unit, and recorded the mixes every weekend growing up in Rockford, IL.   Saturday night ain't no jive dance party ...THAT'S HOW I DISCOVERED HOUSE MUSIC IN 85!
