This time we'll be taking a walk around Nishi-Tokorozawa Station in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture. In the previous post, we looked at the center of Tokorozawa, the administrative center of Koku-koen Station and the sub-center of Shin-Tokorozawa Station, and this time we'll take a shorter walk around Nishi-Tokorozawa Station, and in the next and final post, we'll take a walk around Kotesashi Station, another sub-center of the city. Nishi-Tokorozawa Station is the next station after Tokorozawa Station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line, and originally this was an area with spacious single-family homes. Condominium development has progressed since the 1990s, and the area has now evolved into an urban area with a dense network of mid- to high-rise apartment buildings. On the other hand, it's also home to traditional shopping districts such as the Nishi-Tokorozawa Shopping District and the Hoshinomiya Shoei Association, and even the station building has a local feel, making it an interesting town.
