History of the Fairy Type | Pokémon
In Generation 6, the Fairy Type was introduced to Pokémon as a counter to the extremely powerful Dragon Type. In this video, you’ll learn about the history of the Fairy Type, including type matchups, Pokémon and moves introduced in each generation, type specialists, regional forms and more. Chapters: 0:00 Introduction, Pokémon & Moves that became Fairy 2:08 Generation VI (XY, ORAS) - Pokémon 3:06 Generation VI (XY, ORAS) - Moves & Specialists 5:52 Generation VII (SM, USUM, Let’s Go P&E) - Pokémon 6:46 Generation VII (SM, USUM, Let’s Go P&E) - Moves & Specialists 8:32 Generation VIII (Sword & Shield, Legends Arceus, BDSP) - Pokémon 9:18 Generation VIII (Sword & Shield, Legends Arceus, BDSP) - Moves and Specialists 11:29 Generation IX (Scarlet & Violet) - Pokémon 12:40 Generation IX (Scarlet & Violet) - Moves & Specialists, Video Conclusion Clarifications: • Misty Terrain: By “status conditions” I was referring to the major ones (the ones that stick with you even after you switch out), which is Burn, Freeze, Paralysis, Poison and Sleep. Misty Terrain does not protect against volatile ones, such as bound, leech seed, can’t escape, etc. Misty Terrain has additional effects in Generation 7 and Generation 8+ (I was only covering the move in Gen 6), so if you are interested in that I encourage you to visit the Bulbapedia article. • Geomancy: In the video shown for the move it only takes one turn due to an item, normally it will be two turns. • Mina: In Sun & Moon, while Mina says she is a Trial Captain, she does not have an actual trial (she does in Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon). The Pokémon that I listed for her using in battle refers to the Route 8 and Poni Gauntlet battles in Sun & Moon. For the Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Pokémon, that refers to the battle in the Seafolk Village at the start of the trial. • Magical Torque: In the video shown for this move, a regular Revavroom is using it, to the best of my knowledge this isn't normal & I'm assuming the creator of the video modded in the moves (probably to make the video showing off the move).
