He is perhaps best known for his role as Marshal Dan Troop in the popular Western TV series "Lawman," which aired from 1958 to 1962. With his imposing height and rugged good looks, Russell was a natural fit for Western roles, and he appeared in several other TV shows and movies in the genre.
