Debuting for the 1958 model year the Edsel brand was Ford's effort to gain market share from the numerous divisions of GM and Chrysler. While the Edsel lineup shared many parts with other Ford and Mercury models, they also offered many innovative features and their own unique styling. While poor timing meant Edsel did not last into the 1960s as planned, the vehicles that did move off the lot have forged their own cult following and have become quite collectible. This 59 Corsair 2 door hard top is a real beauty and is believed by its current owner to be mostly original. The white paint beams nicely in the sunlight and the chrome bumpers and trim appear to be well preserved. Take a seat inside and you are well coddled by the Redwood cloth/vinyl upholstery. Under the hood is a 332 cubic inch V8 and is paired to a 2 speed automatic transmission. Imagine how smoothly this car can get up and go!
