And it does so with the restyled model, which brings with it numerous aesthetic and technological innovations. To discover all its features, we visited the heart of the Mirafiori plant, in a top-secret division—which is why we cannot reveal the number or name of the building—where the Carabinieri's Tipos are not only assembled but also designed and literally built. Unlike many emergency vehicles, the new Carabinieri Tipo was not developed by an external outfitter but was 100% engineered directly by Fiat. Fiat doesn't just assemble pre-packaged parts, since it handles the entire development process, but also produces new components from scratch, thanks to the use of cutting-edge 3D printers. The Turin-based company recently completed the production of 800 new units, adding to another batch of 500 delivered in recent months. These are very special Fiat Tipos, profoundly modified from the production versions, which are preparing to enter service on our city streets. We had the exclusive opportunity to take you directly onto the Fiat production line, where we were able to experience firsthand the extent of the development work carried out by Italian engineers.
