July is one of the most important months for caring for Pungnan, also known as the Japanese Wind Orchid. In this guide, we look at how to care for Pungnan during the hot summer season, including July flowering, fragrance, nighttime temperature control, shading, watering after sunset, rainy season ventilation, fertilizer pause, and preventive pest and disease control. Pungnan may continue blooming from June into mid-July, and their fragrance becomes especially strong at sunset or on cloudy days. However, once summer temperatures rise, careful management becomes essential. Nighttime temperatures should be kept below 30°C whenever possible, and ventilation is one of the most important keys to keeping the plants healthy. During the rainy season, avoid direct watering and focus on air circulation.
