The True Horror of Slay the Princess

Slay the Princess is a choose-your-own-adventure game where nothing is as it seems and no one can be trusted. The game is a statement on the very nature of trust itself. In order to make it through the story, the player will have to trust someone. Who do you trust? Why do you trust? Are you worthy of trust? ...Is anyone worthy of trust? -- This video will discuss the overall story structure of Slay the Princess. It will discuss one story branch in detail (The Razor). It will show imagery from other story branches but will not discuss them in detail. The ending will not be discussed. This video will still make sense if you haven't played Slay the Princess. There is a LOT that this video doesn't cover, so there will be plenty of surprises if you do decide to check it out for yourself. -- Patreon (Bonus Videos & Early Episodes):   / iamadot   Socials, etc. https://bsky.app/profile/iamadot64.bs...   / iamadot64   -- Works Discussed: Slay the Princess (2023) / Platforms: PC, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox Seroes X|S, Nintendo Switch / Published by Serenity Forge / Developed by Black Tabby Games / Created by Abby Howard & Tony Howard-Arias Friend or Foe (2002-2003) / Game Show Network Originals Rhythm 0 (1974) / Performance Art by Marina Abramović -- Topics Discussed: Trust, Mayer et al Trust Model, Psychology, Choose your own adventure story, trusting relationships, strangers, Friend or Foe, gameshow, game show, competitiion show, performance art, Marina Abramović, Rhythm 0, horror, Halloween, scary, horror games, horror video games, creepy, black and white, fashion, Black Tabby Games, Scarlet Hollow, The Long Quiet, The Shifting Mound, slaytober, music, video game music, video game soundtrack, ost, game music, Brandon Boone, Abby Howard, indie games, independent games, best games of 2023, story-driven games, cats, illustration, animation, job search, cat cartoons, video essay, essay, video game essay, breakdown, analysis, i am a dot, dot, iamadot
