Sonic Github Madness 4 - A Complete Playthrough

Download Area: https://sonicresearch.org/community/i... I don't typically do longplays of Sonic ROM hacks, but I made an exception for Sonic Github Madness 4. While there are videos out there for this, none of regular Sonic longplay channels I've seen could make it past the second act in their videos, for reasons I personally can't really blame them for: It's the only time in the game where you have to run away from a boss, and it's not immediately made clear in the game itself. The puppet eating up VRAM causes the level objects to made be harder to see during gameplay The random launch power of the springs can sometimes make it a game of luck for whether you can make it up the S-Tube in time. Due to the "madness" nature of this ROM hack, it's very difficult to complete on a casual playthrough. However I did find ways I could make it easier after much trial and error: The game enables the 50,000 points = extra live bonus if played on a Japanese system, and there are objects at points in the game that can inexplicably grant a huge point bonus upon the initial touch. Manaic's Shotgun is really useful for taking out the more annoying enemies due to its wide spread, despite the limited ammo capacity you get each life. There's a really high, floaty jump if you roll and then jump with the B button specifically. You can see me using it a lot to skip past a huge chunk of the harder sections in the game I recommend avoiding the "79" monitors if you can. While they can hand out bonuses (including a free level skip), there is also a chance they can either crash the game to an anti-piracy screen, or send you to an insanely slow version of Sonic 2 instead. This was all played on a real JP Mega Drive Model 2 without any save states involved. The only edit in this video is a disclosed skip for a bumper softlock in Homers Zone Act 3 to save the viewer's time. I hope this helps anyone who might have gotten stuck at any point while trying to play this ROM hack.
