The God of Stupendous Strength: Psalm 21

How strong is God, really? It’s easy to say we believe God is powerful, but when we face uncertainty, unanswered prayers, injustice, or impossible circumstances, we often reveal how small our view of Him can be. Psalm 21 pulls back the curtain and reminds us that God’s strength is far greater than we imagine. As the companion psalm to Psalm 20, this song celebrates God’s answer to His people’s prayers. We see a God whose strength saves His people, secures them through His steadfast love, and strikes down evil in perfect justice. Along the way, Psalm 21 points us beyond David to the greater King, Jesus Christ—the One who won the ultimate victory over sin, death, and Satan and who will one day return to make all things right.
