SOPHIA FLOERSCH | First official test days in Hockenheim with my AUDI R8 LMS GT3 | DTM | ABT | 2021

Awwwww, the season is getting closer!!! First official test days always mean that the season start is not too far away. We had our first official ITR test days in Hockenheim with DTM. It's April, so of course the weather is unpredictable...Let's say we had everything...Sun, rain and snow...But still it was soooo good to be back driving a race car. First time for me driving a R8 and the third time driving a GT3. What should I say? I think this season can be fun. Of course the car is something completely different compared to what I used to drive in the past years. A lot less aerodynamics, a lot more weight, ABS, Traction control, power steering, a touring car!!!, and so much more...But still it's a great car. We had two test days in Hockenheim. Open pitlane on both days and just two hours of a lunch break - means a lot of driving. Many laps and kms. The car is more easy to drive compared to a single seater...Due to 1235kg you really have to drive the car very smooth. Overdriving is horrible for a GT3. The more calm, the better and quicker. Just watch the video to find out how the test days went... For everyone talking about the lap times of the test: I was driving a GT3 with wrong BOP (restrictor, different aerokit, exhaust, and so on). Forget lap times, kilometers and testing of the SteerByWire system was important. The R8 was run last time in 2020 in GTC, it's not an ABT R8. For the reason nothing was changed on the car. On top of that two different tyre compounds were used by all teams in Hockenheim. My new ABT R8 GT3 will hopefully arrive to Lausitzring. Then also with the finale design. Short: I am relaxed.
