Public Examinations Act, 2024માં સુધારા માટે 2026 Amendment Bill સંસદમાં રજૂ કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. નવા બિલમાં માત્ર સજામાં વધારો જ નહીં, પરંતુ પેપર લીક ગેંગ, પરીક્ષા એજન્સીઓ અને જવાબદાર અધિકારીઓ સામે પણ વધુ કડક કાર્યવાહી કરવાની જોગવાઈઓ કરવામાં આવી છે. સરકારનો દાવો છે કે આ કાયદો લાખો વિદ્યાર્થીઓના ભવિષ્યને સુરક્ષિત બનાવવામાં મહત્વપૂર્ણ સાબિત થશે. નવી જોગવાઈઓ મુજબ નકલ અને પેપર લીક જેવા ગંભીર ગુનાઓમાં વધુ કડક જેલ સજા, ભારે દંડ, Special Task Force (STF) દ્વારા તપાસ, બે મહિનામાં તપાસ પૂર્ણ કરવાની સમયમર્યાદા અને Fast Track Courtમાં ઝડપી સુનાવણીનો પ્રસ્તાવ છે. સાથે જ Special Public Prosecutorની નિમણૂક અને અપીલની સમયમર્યાદા અંગે પણ સ્પષ્ટ જોગવાઈઓ ઉમેરવામાં આવી છે. 2024ના કાયદાની સરખામણીએ 2026ના બિલમાં સજા અને તપાસ પ્રક્રિયાને વધુ કડક અને ઝડપી બનાવવાનો પ્રયાસ કરવામાં આવ્યો છે. હવે સંસદમાં ચર્ચા બાદ આ બિલ પર શું અંતિમ નિર્ણય થાય છે તેના પર દેશભરના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ, ઉમેદવારો અને શિક્ષણ ક્ષેત્રની નજર છે.
