Bacchae | The Dance of Dionysos: Choreographing a Greek God | National Theatre
We caught up with Composer DJ Walde, Choreographer Kate Prince, Writer Nima Taleghani and Director Indhu Rubasingham to find out how they've brought Euripides’ tragedy to life through rhythm, movement and music. The Bacchae aren’t standing on the sidelines whilst the men have all the fun. These fangirls are stage-storming powerhouses ready to cause chaos in Thebes. Whilst the Bacchae maraud in the mountains, their god Dionysos is taking part in his own messed-up family Olympics. He’s here to bring down his cousin King Pentheus. All to prove to the chorus of women that he’s more than just the god of rhyme, wine and a good time. Bacchae plays in the Oliver Theatre from 13 September https://www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/pr... -- We believe that great theatre sparks imagination and brings people together.
