Mega Mania Ep4 (1992) - FULL EPISODE

Grand scale chaos comes to Tesco's in the fourth episode of Mega Mania as Lucy "Homes Under the Hammer" Alexander and Joe "To You" Greco take us on a tethered-together trolley obstacle course, blindfolded cake decorating, and bowling in the aisles - plus a rather familiar-looking searching-of-the-shelves-for-certain-items game. This episode was originally broadcast on Wednesday, 29th April, 1992. Before anyone says anything about that mad dash I mentioned, I'm pretty sure that this pre-dates the launch of Supermarket Sweep in the UK. Take that, Dale Winton! Beaten to the punch by around a year, though to be fair it's a fairly obvious idea anyway. (Not that that makes this any less fun, of course.) Then there's a game that I'm not convinced they weren't making up as they went along, which just descends into all-out anarchy with each team stealing the other's shopping (while on roller-skates, no less) and ends rather arbitrarily when one of the captains beeps a car horn that I don't think was previously mentioned. Again, though, that doesn't make it any less fun! I should say that one reason Mega Mania works so well is the chemistry between the presenters. Lucy and Joe are perfectly believable as simultaneously both friends and rivals - almost sibling-like, dare I say it - and even with the cheesy jokes they seem to be having fun as they join in the mayhem. They work well together, don't they? I've also just decided it's time denim dungarees came back in. Keep and eye out at the beginning and end for some Children's ITV continuity featuring Tommy Boyd.
