My Children’s Second Day in Philippine Public School + Sisig, Nilaga, Pandesal Lunch!

Our children’s second day at a public school on Samal Island turned out to be their real first day of classes! The previous school day was unexpectedly canceled after a strong earthquake shook the area. Together with our friend Rahani, we walked the kids to school and later picked them up after classes. While they were learning and making new friends, we spent a beautiful tropical morning with Sergey and our little daughter Alina. We visited the beach, found fresh marangs, enjoyed this incredible Filipino fruit, fed Alina, and swam in the warm sea. Of course, we couldn’t leave without bringing marangs home for our sons, Misha and Kostya. When we all reunited, we shared the fruit together — and it was absolutely heavenly! We also brought home some delicious Filipino food, including Pork Sisig, Chopsuey, and Beef Nilaga, and enjoyed a cozy family meal.
