The Empty Quarter

Saudi Arabia’s The Empty Quarter (Rub Al Khali) is the most barren desert in the world. Watch how an army of close to a 100 Volvo Construction Equipment helped build one of the longest road in the Middle East, through one of the harshest, extreme climate in the world, overcoming extreme logistical challenges and achieving demanding service requirements to reach Saudi Arabia’s ambitious infrastructure development program. The part that FAMCO worked on is 256 km which was awarded to Al-Rosan Company. This represents only a part of the entire highway on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia side of the desert.
