⛰PEDRAFORCA ⛰( Pollegó Inferior ) 👉 La montaña más 😱ESPECTACULAR de Cataluña🤔‼️
👉Plan your route to Pedraforca with this video ✅ A different route to visit the lesser-known side of Pedraforca: the Lower Pollegó Distance: Approx. 7km Elevation gain: Approx. 900m A completely different landscape and tranquility compared to the crowded Upper Pollegó. 🥰 We start from the Mirador de Gresolet parking lot, heading towards the Lluís Estasen Refuge. From the refuge, we take the path that leads to the Pedraforca scree slope, to the left. Once on the scree slope, we cross it diagonally (signposted “POLLEGÓ INFEROR” with an arrow on a large rock). We take the path that climbs up the mountain. The path is steep and there are sections where we have to do some short scrambles (equipped with ropes). This leads us to the Balcón de la Joaquima viewpoint. We follow the ridge and descend, again following green markers and occasional cairns. At this point, we can choose: either ascend the Great Diagonal or follow the mountain ridge. The usual route is to ascend the Great Diagonal and descend the ridge. In this case, you'll need to follow a path to the left that descends gently to the base of this iconic gully, clearly visible from the Saldes-Gósol road. The Great Diagonal: This is a sloping section where we'll have to scramble up a "great diagonal" on the mountain, right at the foot of Pedraforca's south face. The first part is just walking, but it gradually becomes more challenging. It's quite exposed, but if you're used to using your hands and being in slightly vulnerable situations, it's a fun few meters. The final section of the Great Diagonal is the straightest part, but it's equipped with a rope to facilitate the passage. After the Great Diagonal, you'll reach a scree slope that you'll have to climb for a while until you see a fairly obvious gully on your right. e Pay close attention because if we continue up the scree slope, we'll reach the col between Pollegó Inferior and Falso Pollegó Inferior. Once in the gully, always keep in mind the need to move to the right. At first, it doesn't present any major difficulties until we reach the last spur: the most complicated section of the day, a grade III climb. Some people rope up; we managed it without, but extreme caution is necessary. There's a fixed rope you can use for assistance. Once past this, we only have to ascend the final slopes to the summit of Pollegó Inferior (2,445 m). From the summit, we descend along the ridge without further complications. ⚠️Extreme caution is advised; we do not recommend attempting this route in rain, fog, snow, etc. ‼️Difficulty: difficult, mainly due to the steep slope and a grade III section where some people rope up for safety. Not recommended in rainy weather and not advisable in foggy conditions. Caution is advised on the steepest sections, and wearing a helmet is recommended for safety during the ascent. ℹ️ Pedraforca is one of Catalonia's most emblematic mountains, located between the municipalities of Saldes and Gósol, in the Berguedà region of the province of Barcelona. Pedraforca has a very distinctive shape. The Pollegó Superior del Pedraforca reaches an altitude of 2,506 meters (with a secondary peak, Calderer, at 2,497 meters), and the Pollegó Inferior reaches 2,445 meters. The Enforcadura del Pedraforca sits at 2,356 meters. The Pedraforca Massif is a designated Natural Area of National Interest, and the surrounding area forms part of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park. ⚠️ATTENTION: From August 1st to 15th, access to the Gresolet Viewpoint will be partially closed. 🗺Here's the track: https://ca.wikiloc.com/rutes-senderis...
