Off-Grid Water System Install - We Hit EVERY Problem

Can we finally get running water at the off-grid homestead? In today’s episode of Off Grid Dreamers, we are tackling our biggest infrastructure project yet: installing a massive 1,000-gallon water cistern. From prepping the site and leveling the ground to setting the tank and running the lines, this is a complete look at how we are building our off-grid water system from the ground up. Building off-grid isn't always a smooth ride. Between a surprise visit from a rattlesnake near the guest house and some massive desert wind storms, we had to hustle to get this project finished. We even ran into some classic DIY hurdles—missing parts for the toilet and realizing we had to finish the sewer rough-in before the water system could fully go live. In this video, you’ll see: How to site and level a 1000-gallon water tank. Our "3-inch corrugated pipe" trick for better frost protection on water lines. The reality of off-grid plumbing and sewer rough-ins. Tips for making secure plumbing connections in a remote environment. The challenges of building in the wild (snakes and storms included!). Whether you are looking for a DIY plumbing tutorial or just want to see the reality of homesteading life, we hope this gives you some ideas for your own off-grid journey.
