We live in Chiang Mai, in northern Thailand, and this weekend we decided to take a short trip to the neighboring province of Phayao. There were six of us, three motorbikes, and no strict plan at all. Along the way we enjoyed stunning mountain views, cozy Thai coffee shops, rain in the hills, waterfalls, a vibrant night market, a lakeside massage, and even an ancient submerged temple. In this video, I’m showing a different side of Thailand — not the typical tourist destinations, but the places loved by locals and long-term expats.
