Forest Stages — Performance & Documentation | Institute of Interconnected Realities

Between January and August 2024, the Institute of Interconnected Realities spent months inside a small forest on the island of Møn — listening, moving, and allowing the landscape to shape what would become Forest Stages. The resulting performance gathered small groups of participants for a guided walk through the terrain, leading them gradually into an immersive encounter with sound, anthropomorphic figures, and the forest itself. Scenes from former and future lives materialized between the trees. Characters emerged and dissolved. The boundary between the real and the imagined quietly gave way. This documentation also includes Forest Stages — Revisited, staged at Hallen at Dansehallerne, Copenhagen in November 2024 — where the same work was brought indoors, asking what of the forest remained inscribed in the performing bodies when the trees, the soil, and the insects were gone.
