MALHAZINE NUNCA MAIS VOLTOU A SER A MESMA
There are tragedies that kill people. And there are tragedies that leave people alive… but destroyed inside forever. March 22, 2007, remains buried in the hearts of thousands of Mozambicans like an open wound that has never healed. On that day, the Malhazine ammunition depot exploded… and with it, dreams, families, smiles, and entire futures exploded. The sky darkened. The earth trembled. Houses shook as if the world were ending. And in seconds… children disappeared. Mothers lost children. Fathers ran, not knowing who to save first. Some went out into the streets and found only silence, blood, and scattered bodies. At least 100 people died. Hundreds were injured. But the numbers never managed to explain the true magnitude of that pain. Because how does one count the pain of a mother who lost three children on the same day? How do you explain a child who slept with their parents one night… and woke up an orphan the next morning? Nineteen years later, Malhazine continues to bear invisible scars. Grandma Luísa still cries. In the explosion, she lost a daughter and three grandchildren. When you try to remember that day, words fail you. Your gaze wanders. Your voice breaks. There is pain so deep that it can't even come out in sentences. “I just wanted to find my grandchildren alive,” she says, as tears slowly stream down her face marked by time… and longing. But they never returned. And perhaps the saddest thing is this: the world went on. Cars keep passing by. People keep laughing. Maputo continues to live. But for many families in Malhazine… time stopped at the exact moment of the explosion. Some people still wake up startled when they hear a loud bang. There are survivors who carry pieces of that tragedy on their bodies. And there are mothers who continue to sleep embracing the last photos of their dead children. Because certain pains don't go away. They simply learn to live hidden within the heart. And Malhazine… was never the same again. #TVSucesso2026 #TelevisãoMaisPremiada #TVSucessoDoPovo #1NaInformação #ÚLTIMA_HORA #expressodamanha
